1. Name
The name of the club shall be the Melbourne Metropolitan Pool League, hereinafter referred to as "the League" or "MMPL".

2. Objectives
The objectives of the League are to promote and foster the sport of pool in the metropolitan area of Melbourne; to organise and conduct competitions, tournaments, and social events for members; to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for players of all skill levels; and to uphold the integrity and spirit of the game.
3. Membership
Membership of the League is open to any person who supports the objectives of the League. Members must abide by the rules and by-laws of the League at all times. The committee reserves the right to refuse or revoke membership where conduct is deemed contrary to the best interests of the League.
4. Committee
The League shall be governed by a committee consisting of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and such other positions as the committee may determine. Committee members shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting and shall hold office for a period of one year.
5. Annual General Meeting
The League shall hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) once in each calendar year. Notice of the AGM shall be given to all members no less than fourteen (14) days prior to the meeting. The AGM shall receive reports from the committee, elect office bearers, and conduct any other business as required.
6. Finance
The funds of the League shall be applied solely to the promotion of the objectives of the League. The Treasurer shall keep proper accounts of all financial transactions. An audited financial statement shall be presented at each AGM.
7. Amendments to the Constitution
This constitution may be amended at a General Meeting by a two-thirds majority of members present and voting, provided that notice of the proposed amendment has been given to all members at least fourteen (14) days prior to the meeting.
8. Dissolution
The League may be dissolved by a resolution passed by a two-thirds majority at a Special General Meeting called for that purpose. In the event of dissolution, any assets remaining after the payment of all debts and liabilities shall be transferred to a body with similar objectives as determined by the committee.
Standing Orders
1. Competition Format
League competitions shall be conducted in a round-robin format unless otherwise determined by the committee. Match schedules shall be published at the commencement of each season. Teams are responsible for confirming match arrangements with their opponents.
2. Team Registration
Teams wishing to participate in the League must register prior to the commencement of each season. Registration forms must be completed in full and submitted with the applicable registration fee. The committee reserves the right to accept or decline registrations at its discretion.
3. Match Rules
All matches shall be played in accordance with the official rules of pool as adopted by the League. The home team is responsible for ensuring that the playing venue is available and in suitable condition. Any disputes arising during a match shall be resolved in accordance with the dispute resolution procedure.
4. Results Reporting
Match results must be submitted to the League within 48 hours of the match being played. Results must be signed by the captains of both teams. Failure to submit results within the required timeframe may result in a forfeit being recorded.
5. Player Eligibility
Players must be registered members of the League to participate in official competition. A player may only represent one team per season unless special dispensation is granted by the committee. Players must be at least 18 years of age to participate.
6. Conduct
All members, players, and officials are expected to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner at all times. Unsportsmanlike conduct, abusive language, or behaviour likely to bring the League into disrepute may result in suspension or expulsion from the League.
7. Disputes and Appeals
Any dispute arising from competition shall be submitted in writing to the Secretary within seven (7) days of the incident. The committee shall investigate the dispute and issue a determination within fourteen (14) days. Appeals against committee decisions may be lodged within seven (7) days of the determination being issued.
8. Fees and Levies
Annual membership fees and competition levies shall be set by the committee prior to the commencement of each season. Fees must be paid in full before a member or team may participate in League activities. The committee may waive fees in exceptional circumstances.
